This is a 6-20 x 3/8 in. appliance screw used to secure panels and components. It provides a simple replacement fastener to restore proper fit and stability to the affected area. What it does:
I had to remove the front panel of the washing machine and top of the washing machine. i started by removing all the top screws as shown in one of videos. disconnected all the electrical wires (i have a commercial washer) and lifted the front panel over the back of the machine. i was then able to remove the top of the washing machine to give me access to the tub straps and the corresponding screws. i removed the broken straps and then was able to remove the tub cover by pushing down it down... This apron kit is used to convert the older 3 piece support apron to the new one piece apron. Kit includes: one piece rod support apron, spring clips, nut and bracket assembly, conduit, wire ties and instruction sheet.
Installed GE # WH49X20925 Rod Support Sub-Frame, a factory specified upgrade. As a Design Engineer I would categorize this "fix" as an "Engineering Correction" a.k.a. a classic designer "screw-up". Replaced the Coupling Pulsator, and the Pulsator (short spindle in the center of the washer). The only problem that I encountered was how to remove the short spindle in the center of the washer...my fabric softer is in the center and you need to open that, grab the middle and loosen by turning left. Once that is out you will use a 7/16th socket and remove the entire agitator. Most of the videos show that you pull that straight up to remove - not the short one. There is still a screw to remove.... Read more
