This E-ring is a small retaining clip that secures shafts, spindles, and components to prevent lateral movement and keep assemblies in place. It restores proper alignment and helps stop parts from slipping off their shafts. What it does:
Used to supply water to the upper spray washarm.

In the How to fix it your self section of Questions and Answers, your answers for removing the Base Spray Arm is incorrect. It states "just stick a screw driver into the base spray arm from inside the tub and turn", that does not work. Their are 2 tabs that in gauge the base spray arm with the tub. A 4 prong round wrench is required to insert from the bottom into the pump connector and turn the nut that sits inside. Read more
