Found on-line troubleshooting guides. Checked motherboard, showed infinite ohms on heater/thermostat circuit. Took apart freezer compartment, found defrost heater element was toast. Got parts from Appliance Part Pros. Use their How-To videos and parts diagrams to replace heater and gasket. Put freezer back together, and refrigerator got cool.

First I called GE to get the part numbers and price. The cost would have been $92 ordering from GE. I searched online and found AppliancePartsPros and ordered the same parts for $65. They were delivered within two days. I am very happy to have my refrigerator fixed as these two broken parts prevented me from using the bottom two drawers of the refrigerator. I don't think it is good that GE makes their refrigerators with plastic parts that can break.

I ordered a new ice door assembly& spring along with a new ice dispenser solenoid. I also ordered a new tube form assembly to replace the water spout. received all part within 2 days. watched the video and repairs went exactly as described, no problem except the tube assembly. When installing the tube assembly you have to take the inside panel off the door in order to get to the spout, but no problem installed the tube and everything works perfect.

Plactic had broken from the spiral part that for wards the ice. Also there were cracks in two places of other parts. There was a hole in the bottom of the bin. The new spiral was assembled and two new parts were replaced with help from the video and the diagram and the unit worked well.
