When we inspected the first time we found that Plactic had broken from the spiral part that for wards the ice. Also there were cracks in two places of other parts. There was a hole in the bottom of the bin. The new spiral was assembled and two new parts were replaced with help from the video and the diagram and the unit worked well. This square beauty ring was snapped in place with about 12 small retaining studs that were part of the beauty ring. By using my fingernails I could pull out the ring a bit all the way around. After working my way around the ring 2-3 times it came loose in my hand without breaking. I then installed the new one by pressing it into place with the same retaining studs that gripped ring into place. Purchased new Interface Display from Appliance Parts Pro at about $60 bucks cheaper than from GE and it is OEM board. Snapped the old board out pulled three connectors. Positioned new board installed connectors snapped in place. Works great! Read more
