Replace your washer's control panel button if it's cracked, broken, or missing. This snap-in component installs on the control panel face plate.
All I had to do was remove 3, 1/4" screws from the back and take the front off. Two 5/16th screws hold the circuit board in place, remove them and press the button into the hole from the back. Replace the circuit board, slide the front back on and install the three 1/4" screws. Always unplug the washer first! Read more
Drain pump inlet hose for top-load washers. Connects the tub to the pump assembly. Replace if cracked, leaking, or has holes causing water on the floor.
The video was very helpful. the hardest part is getting off old rusted parts. I had to use a hacksaw to remove one of the old clamps. I had to open the bottom of the washing machine to remove of the other clamp. Putting the new parts on was easy. Getting everything apart was a challenge. Replaced solenoid valve. Repair summary: Turn off H/C water supply, disconnect hoses. Unscrew 3 screws rear of main panel. Slide front panel laterally then pull up to remove. Unscrew 2 screws on solenoid valve part. Disconnect spade electrical connectors and remove defective part. Insert new part and do everything I just said in reverse. Planning to spend hundreds on a new washer and was pleased to discover the agitator coupling was the only thing wrong. Very easy repair. Replaced lid switch and lid magnet. Took just a little longer then 20 minutes as I had to splice in the new lid switch as it wasn't one that was a clip in, it was hard wired in. Read more

Fix a washer that won't spin or agitates but doesn't spin properly. This mode shifter assembly switches between agitate and spin cycles. Advanced repair.
Motor control board was flashing 4 times, indicating that the mode shifter had an error. I disconnected the mode shifter's wire from the controller and measured the resistance between the 2 leads with an ohmmeter. Since the reading was infinite, that meant that the mode shifter coil or in-line thermal sensor was electrically open, i.e. bad. Fix loud grinding noise during spin cycle caused by worn bearing in shaft assembly. Requires full disassembly. Includes tub seal to prevent leaks.
After researching the problem on this site, I realized that the most likely cause was a bad bearing contained in the shaft & tube assembly. Essentially, the tub seal failed & allowed water to travel down the shaft & into the housing containing the bearing. I confirmed this by pulling the front cover off of the unit & noticed some brown water pooled directly under the shaft & tube assembly. Fix water leaking from the top of your washer or spraying everywhere. This funnel shower head assembly disperses water evenly. Moderate DIY repair.
The Youtube videos made the process much easier to tear down the washing machine to replace these parts. These parts were easy to replace once the outside lid and control panel were removed. The initial component replaced was the hot/cold valve. It was leaking causing a continuous drip into the bowl. The Valve is attached to the funnel shower head asm.
