This rod assembly is part of the washer's suspension system. It supports and stabilizes the tub to minimize vibration and banging, helping your machine complete spin cycles smoothly and stay balanced during operation.
Like a Dungeons-&-Dragons' adventure which was designed by a heartless and cruel Dungeon Master, my son and I were tasked with a foreboding journey into the Dragon's Lair. The beast was hurt, all four of her legs (suspension rods) were weak from age and needed to be healed. My son is a Paladin with great healing powers, and I knew that our mission would be successful, but each blistering step of our journey was into the wind and grueling because these lands were never meant to be traversed... I ordered two new baffles and 7 screws. I also ordered 6 large washers. We were running with one baffle held by only 2 of 3 screws. It appears that a repairman in the past had removed the large washers and over time, the screw heads reamed out the hole, causing the baffles to detach and break. In about 15 minutes, I was able to tighten up the existing baffle and add the two new ones. I also added the 6 big washers to help strengthen this to prevent future issues. I no longer have to listen to... Read more

The Idler Arm Assembly is an OEM component specifically designed for GE dryers. It is a vital part that helps transfer power from the motor to the tumbling action of the dryer drum. The idler arm assembly allows the belt to provide smooth, consistent power to operate the drum efficiently during each cycle.
Symptoms of a bad idler arm assembly include:
Causes of failure can be normal wear and tear over extended use. Excess vibration from an unbalanced load or a dropped object inside the dryer could also potentially damage the idler arm.
This part is compatible with Hotpoint, RCA, and Kenmore dryer models.
