If the cap is damaged, it should be replaced before cooking on the burner.Make sure the stove is completely cool before removing and replacing the burner cap. Remove the cooking grate and set it aside. Lift the burner cap and remove it from the stove. Line the new burner cap up and place it over the burner spreader.
