I have a Jennair jjw9630cas double wall oven, and after a few years I noticed that the light would not go out, first in the bottom oven, and then in the top oven. After doing some research I discovered this was not uncommon, and the fix usually involved replacing the hinges and/or the hinge receptacles. It didn't look like a difficult fix so I ordered four new hinges and four new receptacles, which arrived quickly. I found a video on YouTube that showed how to replace the hinges and it... Read more
Oven not heating or baking unevenly? A faulty bake element is usually the cause. This bottom heating element is a straightforward DIY fix in 10-15 minutes.
Watched AppliancePartsPros.com instruction video. Ordered new oven bake element, which arrived a couple days later. Removed old oven bake elelment. Installed new oven bake element. I am very appreciative of the instructional video. It's a very handy way for me to figure out if it's a do-it-yourself repair or not. In this case, another key thing it pointed out was the fact that the two wires that attach to the oven bake element have a tendency to slip back into the insulation behind the... Read more
Fix F2 error codes and inaccurate oven temperatures by replacing a faulty temperature sensor. Simple 15-minute DIY repair with basic tools.
My mother's GE range was not coming up to full heat (very far from it), and I was hearing a lot of relay-clicking coming from the control board. The heating elements seemed good. I suspected the control board was faulty, but there was a chance that it might be the (*much* less expensive) temperature sensor, so I ordered both from AppliancePartsPros.com (which got the parts to me very fast) so I could try the T-sensor first. After removing the doors and the back panel of the oven, and taking out... Read more

Burner won't adjust temperature or stuck on high? This surface burner control switch restores heat control. Quick 10-minute fix with basic tools.
Stove is a GE Adora Model JBP63HH2bb. It took me forever to figure out how the burner was attached to the rails. My glass top was different than any instructions found on the internet for changing out a burner. The burners on this one are held to the bottom of the glass cook top by two rails that cross the bottom of the burner assemblies. In order to get too the burners you must remove 4 Phillips screws to lower the rails and burners from the cooktop. I suggest two people do this because... Read more

Easy fix. Both elements replaced while I was at it, so all new. Figured if one went the other was going to follow. CIRCUIT BREAKER OFF. Removed the back metal panel with my nut driver for the hex head screws. Note where the panel may slip under tabs for support. Remove slip on electrical connections on upper and lower elements. May need a pliers. (I did not want to just pull the element and the wires into the oven with the element and remove them there, like a technician would do. After 15... Read more
Burner not heating or intermittently going out? This large surface element restores consistent cooking heat. Simple 5-minute DIY replacement. Video included.
I wasn't sure if it was the heating element surface, the receptacle or the switch. My wife does some canning so it had some good use. It turned out to be the receptacle. I purchased the element as well thinking it needed replaced anyway. All works now. All three items are/would be easy to change. Read more

Burner not heating? Replace the element receptacle and wire kit. Fixes burned or broken receptacles causing inoperative burners. DIY-friendly repair.
I ordered the recommended Infinite Heat Switch Kit and Element Receptacle and Wire Kit and installed them. The latter was a breeze, appearing to be exactly the same as the original, except for the wire color. The switch, though, was another story. It is a RobertShaw "replacement" part, designed, it seems, for use in the greatest number of original units as possible. The most obvious difference between this switch and the original (besides its comparatively small size) is the long, segmented... Read more
