Be careful not to tighten or twist the small hex nut in the knob cylinder/housing with force. there is a very small plastic set tab that can be broken off easily. how do I know? The orientation of the switch "box" is horizontal instead of vertical. otherwise, this replacement part # works as expected. I couldn't get the switch to attach plate removed, and the switch removed, without removing the entire cooktop and removing the top glass burner cover. Not difficult, but time-consuming. Read more
I did some research and found out that this door problem was common. Appliance Pro had a good Q & A on this which led me to a repair kit for the model number of our oven. The kit included both parts of the oven hinges and the interior panel of the oven door. I also replaced the oven door gasket. The repair process went well.
