I always save original books and assembly sheets for appliances. That helped a lot ! The assembly sheets showed how the ovens went in, how they were attached to the cabinet and what to avoid so I didn’t bend trim piece. This is a control panel with touchpad that is used on several wall ovens by major manufacturers. It sits on top of the oven and provides the user with important information and functions. This appliance part has a small screen and a series of buttons to carry out cooking and cleaning options for the oven. Over time, the control panel can be damaged or malfunction and no longer work correctly. The buttons may not register, the screen may not show information, or the oven may stop working correctly.If the control panel with touchpad isn't working, it will need to be replaced. Work gloves and basic tools will be needed for the process. Make sure the oven is unplugged and the gas is turned off if applicable. Contacted GE and talked to a rep- after describing all the steps I had taken following the manual and explaining that the broil and bake buttons worked for turning the LOC mode on and off, and that the LOC mode was definitely off because I was able to set the Self Clean, she indicated I needed a new Control Panel.
