From the inside of the microwave door, we unscrewed the screw that was holding the top of the handle. We carefully removed the hard rubber gasket on the inside of the door using a putty knife to pop it out. Once the gasket was pulled away we were able to completely remove the old handle and install the new one. It took about 15 minutes. It would have been faster if we knew we could just pull out the gasket around the door. We weren't sure what was holding it in place and didn't want to break it. Read more
GE prepared an estimate to repair the oven indicating parts needed after the oven was removed from the cabinet and performed a diagnostic. We ordered the fuse and Line Filter assembly and I replaced the bad parts with new. The oven is operating properly Read more

The handle seemed to be the easiest to fix based on "how To" repair info I found on the Internet! I could not find anything on the frame replacement and did not want to experiment without first having the frame I ordered in hand. I received the parts on Friday afternoon and in less then a half hour I was done. Turns out the frame snaps out and in just like the inner door molding. Now our 17 year old Microwave that still works great now also looks like new again. Read more
