I have one of those combo units with the microwave on top and the oven on the bottom. The thermometer switch located on the upper right side mounted on top of the magnetron read open on a continuity test. Replaced the thermal fuse. Everything works fine now. I had to remove the microwave from the range and then remove the cover from the microwave to determine the exact problem. After a visual inspection then discharging the high voltage capacitor, I used a meter to test the high voltage diode and fuses. After using the meter to ohm out the magnetron, I removed it from the unit, and seeing that the hole in the end of the magnetron's tube was enlarged and burnt, as if it was arcing, I assumed it was the bad part. Found a replacement stirrer motor from Appliance Parts Pros.com.The motor arrived in less than a week. I removed the old noisy motor and installed the new one. Placed a glass of water in the unit to test, and the new motor made it sound like brand new. The actual repair was quite simple. You just remove the grill on the top ,front of the unit. Ordered new film, cut to size with a T square and an exacto knife, use old film as a template. Round corners with a nail clipper. Apply to inside of door, good as new in 15 minutes! Great service, speedy too. Read more

Removed front vent cover held on by two thin Phillips head screws. At the top of the panel was one screw. Removed screw holding panel in place. I then slid panel up out of grooves and had to use small thin flat head screw driver to release catches on the sides of panel. Snapped new on in place and reassembled. Read more

Took it off the wall and took it into my work shop. Took it all apart found 1/2" of caked on grease all over everything including the fan. This is the only fan over my stove. Scraped and cleaned it all using degreaser in a spray can for electronics. Removed the ventilation motor and replaced the interior light, Once unit was clean and dry reassembled and reinstalled. The charcoal filter in the GE Microwave Oven was falling apart. Despite the directions, it is difficult to pull out but eventually worked it around the outer flange. Putting the new one in is a simple slide in. Then replace the grill and put the two screws back in. Read more
