Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Lost power to the microwave no display oven still worked   Jose L. • Timnath , CO • October 02, 2016

I have one of those combo units with the microwave on top and the oven on the bottom. The thermometer switch located on the upper right side mounted on top of the magnetron read open on a continuity test. Replaced the thermal fuse. Everything works fine now. Note: The thermal switch on the left side read closed, the fan switch on the lower right side read open. I just watched some youtube videos on what and how to test the components. The 20A fuse was good. So I tested the thermal... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Loud sizzeling noise when heating food   Brian P. • Port Deposit , MD • December 27, 2014

I had to remove the microwave from the range and then remove the cover from the microwave to determine the exact problem. After a visual inspection then discharging the high voltage capacitor, I used a meter to test the high voltage diode and fuses. After using the meter to ohm out the magnetron, I removed it from the unit, and seeing that the hole in the end of the magnetron's tube was enlarged and burnt, as if it was arcing, I assumed it was the bad part. I ordered the parts from Appliance... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You The microwave was making a loud grinding noise, like it was a coffee grinder.   Michael F. • Harrisburg , PA • May 10, 2020

Found a replacement stirrer motor from Appliance Parts Pros.com.The motor arrived in less than a week. I removed the old noisy motor and installed the new one. Placed a glass of water in the unit to test, and the new motor made it sound like brand new. The actual repair was quite simple. You just remove the grill on the top ,front of the unit. Take out the charcoal filter, remove the cover just under the filter( a single screw on the front is all that holds it in place. Unplugged the power... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Our over the range microwave stopped working just shut off completely   Joyce P. • East Brunswick , NJ • December 03, 2016

My husband is the hero in this story. At this time in our lives we weren't looking to purchase another microwave. After 10 years at my company, due to a workforce reduction, my position was eliminated. He quickly realized it could be the fuse. We searched the microwave and the part on line and appliance part pros came up with the parts for our microwave. We needed the fuse and the fuse holder. For under $20 we were able to get the microwave working again. Thank you appliance part pros for... Read more
