Printed out and followed the online written instructions and referred to the video several times. For us, it was a two person job to safely support the front of the microwave while removing the two mounting bolts which go through the cabinet from above. After tilting the front down, lifting the back up and off of the wall bracket required both of us. Not overly heavy, just awkward. Symptoms of a bad turntable motor include:
Causes can be normal wear and tear over time from continuous use, failure of electronic components in the motor, or damage from heavy loads or impact. This GE replacement motor restores even cooking performance.
This OEM GE part is also compatible with Hotpoint, RCA, and some Kenmore models. Replace yours today before a minor problem becomes a major repair bill. Continued use without a properly functioning turntable can damage other microwave components.
I ordered the replacement motor. I unplugged the microwave. Then I simply removed the turntable spindle by lifting it up off the motor from inside the microwave. Next, I removed the 7 screws holing the bottom of the microwave in place. I lowered the bottom of the microwave, giving me access to the motor. I unplugged the two wires connected to the motor, removed the 2 screws holding the motor in place, then put the new motor in place and reversed the steps to complete the job. Read more
