The Turntable Motor is an OEM part for GE microwaves. It is responsible for rotating the glass turntable plate during cooking, ensuring food is evenly heated throughout the microwave cavity.
Symptoms of a bad turntable motor include:
- The turntable not spinning at all or rotating unevenly
- Loud grinding or clicking noises coming from the motor area
- The turntable plate wobbles excessively during the operation
Causes can be normal wear and tear over time from continuous use, failure of electronic components in the motor, or damage from heavy loads or impact. This GE replacement motor restores even cooking performance.
This OEM GE part is also compatible with Hotpoint, RCA, and some Kenmore models. Replace yours today before a minor problem becomes a major repair bill. Continued use without a properly functioning turntable can damage other microwave components.
Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You
My microwave turntable stopped turning Jeremy N. • Deer Park , TX • January 15, 2017
I ordered the replacement motor. I unplugged the microwave. Then I simply removed the turntable spindle by lifting it up off the motor from inside the microwave. Next, I removed the 7 screws holing the bottom of the microwave in place. I lowered the bottom of the microwave, giving me access to the motor. I unplugged the two wires connected to the motor, removed the 2 screws holding the motor in place, then put the new motor in place and reversed the steps to complete the job.

This damper is the oven vent assembly that controls airflow and venting during cooking, helping the oven purge steam and maintain consistent temperatures. Replacing a faulty damper restores proper vent operation and helps improve cooking performance. What it does:
- Opens and closes the oven vent to regulate airflow and release steam during bake/broil cycles
- Helps maintain proper cooking temperatures by directing exhaust flow
- A failed damper can cause poor temperature recovery, uneven baking or unexpected venting behavior
- Works as the airflow control component in the oven vent system
What's included: One damper assembly. Install notes:
- Disconnect power to the appliance before starting any repair
- Installation typically requires basic hand tools (screwdriver, nut driver); follow the service manual for disassembly steps
- Handle sheet metal and vents carefully — wear gloves to avoid cuts

The Capacitor is an OEM part for GE microwaves. It is an electronic component within the microwave's high voltage circuitry. The capacitor works to store and deliver high-voltage electrical energy from the main control board to the magnetron tube in short, powerful bursts required for microwave cooking.
Causes of failure can be due to natural breakdown of the capacitive material over time and use. Capacitors have a limited lifespan that is greatly reduced if subjected to heat, moisture or electrical surges.
Symptoms of a bad capacitor include:
- Inconsistent or incomplete cooking even at high power levels
- Slow or inefficient heating during use
- Sparking or burning smells emanating from inside the microwave
This OEM GE part is also compatible with Hotpoint, RCA, and some Kenmore models.
