This humidity sensor assembly monitors moisture inside the microwave cavity during Sensor Cook and Reheat cycles, allowing the control to automatically adjust time and power. Replacing a failed sensor can restore accurate, reliable sensor-based cooking performance. What it does:
- Detects steam/humidity in the cavity for auto-sensing cook and reheat programs
- Sends feedback to the control board to adjust power levels and cook time
- Failure symptoms include sensor cook not starting, stopping early, "sensor" error messages, or inconsistent results on auto settings
What's included:
- One humidity sensor assembly
Install notes:
- Unplug the appliance before service; microwaves contain a high-voltage capacitor that can retain a dangerous charge
- Handle the sensor face carefully and keep it clean; route and secure the wire harness as originally

Microwave would not microwave Richard E. • Cape Coral , FL • January 05, 2020
Replaced the Humidity sensor, Thermistor and door switches. I replaced these thinking the problem was one of the items but didn't want to trial and error one part at a time. Plus the cost was reasonable so if these didn't help I wasn't out a lot of money. I sense the door switch was the problem. Replaced all items and the microwave works great. Thanks for the advice and the cost of the parts.

This fan assembly moves air through the unit to cool internal components and maintain proper ventilation. Replacing a worn or seized fan restores correct airflow, helps prevent overheating, and reduces excessive noise from a failing motor or wheel.
- Circulates cooling air across internal components to prevent overheating
- Exhausts air through the vent/duct path for proper ventilation
- Common symptoms: fan not running, weak airflow, or loud rattling/squealing
- Unit may overheat or shut off during use when the fan fails
What's included: One fan assembly Install notes:
- Disconnect power before service; microwaves contain a high-voltage capacitor that can retain a dangerous charge—follow proper safety procedures.
- Remove access panels to reach the fan housing; note airflow direction and wire orientation.
- Transfer any brackets, grommets, or screws from the original assembly if required.
- After installation, verify the wheel spins freely and airflow direction is correct before reassembly.

This door interlock micro switch is part of the microwave's latch assembly. It detects when the door is fully closed so the oven only runs when latched, helping restore safe, consistent start/stop operation.
- Senses door-latch position within the interlock assembly
- Cuts power when the door opens; permits operation when fully closed
- Helps resolve "won't start" complaints or stopping when the door is jostled
- Often fixes the need to press or lift the door to keep the unit running
What's included: 1 micro switch Install notes:
- Unplug the microwave before servicing; high-voltage components can retain a dangerous charge.
- Access the interlock/latch bracket behind the control panel; note switch orientation and terminal labels (COM, NO/NC).
- Transfer wires to the new switch, secure it in the bracket, and ensure the actuator aligns with the door latch.
- Reassemble and test with a cup of water to ensure proper start/stop operation.

This microwave thermostat is the safety control that monitors temperature and opens the circuit if overheating is detected, protecting internal components. Replace it if your oven is dead, loses heat, or shuts off mid-cycle due to a failed thermostat. What it does:
- Monitors temperature and interrupts power when overheating occurs to help prevent damage
- Helps protect internal components and wiring from excessive heat
- Failure can cause: no power, shuts off during or shortly after starting, or runs but does not heat
- Replacing a failed thermostat helps restore normal operation and safety protections
What's included:
Install notes:
- Unplug the appliance; microwaves contain high-voltage components that can retain a lethal charge even when unplugged
- Remove the outer cover to access the thermostat; location varies by model
- Move wires one at a time to the new thermostat and mount it firmly against the mating surface for proper heat sensing
- Reassemble, restore power, and test operation

A high-voltage capacitor for the appliance's high-voltage circuit that stores and releases electrical energy to support proper heating operation. Replacing a failing capacitor can restore consistent heating and prevent related electrical faults. What it does:
- Stores and delivers high-voltage energy used by the magnetron/ high-voltage assembly to generate heat.
- Failure may cause no-heat or weak-heat conditions in the oven.
- Faulty capacitors can contribute to arcing, loud humming, or blown high-voltage fuses.
- Works as part of the HV circuit; not a user-serviceable low-voltage control.
What's included: One high-voltage capacitor. Install notes:
- High-voltage components can hold a dangerous charge—disconnect power and discharge the capacitor before servicing.
- Use insulated tools and avoid touching terminals; verify proper operation with appropriate test equipment.

This canopy resistor regulates current to a range-hood or canopy fan circuit to help the blower run at the correct speeds. Replacing a failing resistor can restore proper fan speed control and stop intermittent operation. What it does:
- Controls electrical resistance in the canopy/blower circuit to help regulate fan speeds.
- Helps prevent the motor from running only on a single speed or from failing to start at selected speeds.
- Can cause symptoms such as inconsistent fan speeds, no response from speed controls, or occasional fan cutoff.
- Works with the hood's wiring and control switch to deliver the correct voltage to the fan motor.
What's included: One canopy resistor. Install notes:
- Disconnect power to the appliance before accessing the canopy or electrical connections.
- Inspect wiring and connectors for heat damage or corrosion; replace harness or terminals if damaged.

Arcing from the magnetron intermittantly Peter V. • Georgetown , KY • September 29, 2015
I searched the web and it seemed that many people had a similar problem when gunk got on the waveguide plate/cover. When I removed the cover, one of the plastic latches broke so rather than just trying to clean the plate, I had to order a new one. The new one arrived in just a couple of days, I put the plate on and at least for the last few days, no more arcing. <$10 fix for my over the stove microwave.

The Latch is an OEM part for LG microwaves. This component is critical for securing the microwave door, ensuring it remains closed during operation. The latch interacts with the door switch to enable the microwave to function only when the door is properly closed, maintaining safety and efficiency.
Over time, the latch can become worn or damaged due to frequent use, misalignment, or accidental impact. A faulty latch can lead to the microwave door not closing properly, resulting in the appliance not operating or shutting off unexpectedly.
Symptoms of a bad latch include:
- The microwave not starting or operating intermittently
- The door not closing securely
- The microwave running even when the door is open
- Audible clicking or unusual noises when opening or closing the door
This OEM LG part is also compatible with Sears/Kenmore models.
