It took two repair attempts to fix the dryer. At first, I noticed that the rear felt seal was completely worn out, so I thought that extra friction between the tub and the rear panel might be causing the motor to have to work too hard and overheat. When I found the dryer off Craigslist, I didn't notice until recently the front panel plug was missing. I ordered the plug from Appliance Parts Pros, got the part & installation took seconds as it was a snap-in part. Couldn't be any happier. Also discovered the drum would not light up when the door opened. Ordered the bulb also from Appliance Parts Pros. Checked limit switches and door switch and start relay with multi-meter. All were good. When dryer first started acting up, it would shut off in the middle of a drying cycle and the only way to get it to restart was to jiggle the timer knob. That told me the timer was going out. Finally went completely out and would not start at all. Ordered a new timer, replaced the timer and resolved the problem. Read more
I opened the top of the dryer (after watching the video on your website) and replaced the lever on the switch. Removed two screws near the lint filter, used a putty knife to release fasteners under the top and raised the top. Held it in place with a short piece of board then removed the two screws holding in the switch and lever. Replaced the broken lever with the new one and put it all back together.
