Removed the back cover to access the fan area. Clean the area with brush and vac first. Unplugged the Refrigerator. Used a socket set with 1/4" socket. Had an extended and a standard socket. Removed the condensate plastic drain from the bottom of the refrigerator to have more access to the fan. Unplugged the fan motor. Removed the two screws holding the fan in place. Technician replaced the damper first, but that did not fix the problem. Then he said it was the circuit board that needed replacing after confirming the temp sensor was ok, but he wanted $200 in labor to replace it. The same part from Appliance Parts was $75 cheaper and I was able to replace the part myself in about 20 minutes. Saving an additional $200. Everything works just like it was supposed to. Read more

Your part number for this model refrigerator was the exact replacement needed and a genuine part. Pushed the eject button next to the filter located at the bottom of the grille on the left side (freezer side). The old filter came forward, we removed it. We watched the whirlpool you tube video 1st which shows to removed the two covers and to push it back into place and there was instructions included turning clockwise or counter clockwise.
