Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Water level switch plastic rod broke level was set to high and i couldn't adjust the water level to smaller loads   Dorothy B. • Bronx , NY • March 14, 2015

I unplugged the machine from the electric socket and removed the drain hose. I then shut the water valves to the unit. I removed the two screws from the rear sides of the control panel. I gently lifted the control panel and tilted it forward resting it on the lid of the machine to expose the control knobs. I removed the rubber tube and the plastic electric clip plug from the water level switch. This allowed me to twist the switch and lift it away from the panel. Time for the replacement... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You The motor on our clothes dryer was doing a "self protection" thermal or overload shutdown and there was a strong odor in the tub   Jim S. • Fallon , NV • November 27, 2015

It took two repair attempts to fix the dryer. At first, I noticed that the rear felt seal was completely worn out, so I thought that extra friction between the tub and the rear panel might be causing the motor to have to work too hard and overheat. I ordered a new seal from appliancepartspros.com, and installed it according to their instructional video, but it did not correct the problem. Then I decided that the motor must be going bad, so I watched the on-line video on how to remove the... Read more

Pulled start button off and since the cover was plastic, I could see the solenoid inside. I guessed that it was broken and ordered another from ApplianceParts. It was a simple repair, just bold the new switch in. Be sure to remember to put the white push button on before you bolt the switch back in place and attach the instrument panel to the dryer (I did not and had to disassemble the panel to insert the white push button. Very easy repair. Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You The lever to turn on dryer was broken the handle was broken and the latch was broken   David R. • Jemison , AL • February 09, 2015

I opened the top of the dryer (after watching the video on your website) and replaced the lever on the switch. Removed two screws near the lint filter, used a putty knife to release fasteners under the top and raised the top. Held it in place with a short piece of board then removed the two screws holding in the switch and lever. Replaced the broken lever with the new one and put it all back together. The handle was a little more difficult as it took a lot more prying with a screwdriver to... Read more
