I replaced the door boot with a new one from AppliancePartsPros.com. The most difficult part was starting at the back end of the new boot onto the stationary rim, just in front of the tub. And then anchoring it in place with the existing spring from the previous boot. To start the boot I had to hook the top edge of the boot, where the arrow tab is, onto the rectangular projection on the tub rim and then roll the rubber boot edge down around the tub rim and hope the rim was going into the... Adjustable leveling foot installs at the bottom of your appliance to ensure stability and proper leveling. Replace if broken, cracked, or missing.
I determined that it was a problem that occurred during the defrost cycle by resetting the GFCI outlet and forwarding the defrost timer until the defroster came on. Once the defrosting began, the GFCI outlet would reliably trip. I took apart the shielding inside of the freezer and tested the defrosting without the heating element or the thermostat connected. Since that looked good, I tested for proper functionality of the thermostat by removing it, placing it in a working freezer, and checking... Read more

I have used AP Pros.com in the past. They've always been helpful. I used the live chat feature to describe the symptoms (freezer was fine, fridge was too cold, water filter/line frozen) and she made recommendations and showed me exploded view PDF's of the location of each part. I ordered the Damper Assembly (expensive) and Temp Sensor (not expensive) and installed both parts in about 30 mins after watching the instructional videos on the website. Violia! Worked like a charm. It's always a... Read more
Ice not dispensing or auger won't turn? The drive bar transfers motor rotation to crush and dispense ice. Moderate DIY repair with video guide.
My problem started with a rusting condition in the ice bin that spiraled out of hand. I took apart the ice bin and all the hardware thinking I could clean it with the suggested baking powder. Plastic parts cleaned up like new, metal parts were pitted. I wire brushed and sanded the parts put it all back together and gave it a try. All appeared fine then two days later the ice dispenser stopped. I watched a couple of videos and most pointed to the ice auger motor. One video specifically said you... Read more

Switch replacement was easy: -unplug fridge -using medium flathead, pry out old switch, starting from back, be gentle it's all plastic -when switch pops out, grab the wires and don't let them fall back into hold -there should be three wires -connect to new switch in same pattern -push new switch back in, being careful to orient it correctly while replacing the freezer switch, i noticed that one of the wires had loosened up and detacted from the old switch anyway, which was probably the actual...
