Ordered replacement part and changed it out myself. Was pretty simple except for the fact that I could not get the trim ring around the dispenser unit entirely off the door. I was able to start at the top and pull it out enough to change part, but was afraid to pull too hard on it for full removal thinking it could break. Initially I noticed the crusher drum was cracked and broken so I replaced the drum the retaining nut on the end of the auger and the circlip and washer. it worked fine for a time and then the drum began free wheeling. upon further inspection I discovered the retain nubs on the auger had worn down allowing the blade to slip down the auger body. so I replaced the auger, drum, drive blade, and drive cam. Due to manufacturer changes harness supplied in kit must be used. On refrigerator models manufactured prior to 2016, the dispenser board may also need to be replaced.
After researching the net I learned that both boards needed to replaced and once the parts came it wasn't a bad fix, it only took a little over an hour. Appiancepartspros.com had good info on what I needed to do. Keep up the good work Read more
