This is a washing machine timer. This component controls the electrical components on the machine and the duration of the unit's various cycles. In the event that the washing machine will not drain or spin, it is likely that the timer has gone bad. It will run through the washing cycle fine until it is time to drain or spin. The replacement process is fairly easy and can be done quickly. Some people replacing the part may wish to wear work gloves to protect their hands during the process. It is important to unplug the appliance from its power source prior to beginning the replacement process. This particular timer is compatible with washing machines that are manufactured by the Whirlpool, Crosley, and Inglis brands. It is sourced straight from the manufacturer as a durable part. Plus, this part is sold as an individual component.

Researched this kenmore washer on-line and found the problem to be the lid switch. Saw a diagram on how to jump this switch by connecting a wire to both outside wires on the harness and voila! It worked! This is not a fix but it allowed me to finish the load of unwashed clothes and told me which part was bad (do not run washer jumped like this.......fire hazard!) Ordered the lid switch and it was an easy repair. A $14.00 switch was a lot cheaper than a $450.00 washer. Thanks appliance parts... Read more
