Water leak from 1986 Maytag washing machine Michael C. • Petaluma , CA • February 08, 2019
I removed the front cover and saw water a rusted out drum cover clamp. Water gushed out at this point when i operated the machine.
I ordered a new clamp and seal from Appliance Parts Pros, which arrived quickly. I wire-brushed the drum and it's cover clean, in the sealing area and installed the new seal and clamp. NOTE do not set the cover down all the way down, or the tub will not "spin". Leave 3/8- 1/2" clearance between the top of the tub and the upper cover.
I chose to fix my old...

Sticking/seizing agitator output shaft leading to belt failure leaving washer inoperable Jason L. • Lees Summit , MO • September 24, 2014

Sometimes the washer wouldn't start the wash cycle when the fill cycle was done it would just sit until the lid was picked up or bumped Eugene N. • Roswell , NM • August 28, 2016
The lid shut-off switch is located behind the lid How About That. I order the plastic ball the hold the lid in place plus the lid shut off switch. I watched the video that AppliancePartsPros.com has on how to replace the lid and the plastic balls. I removed the lid to get to the two philips head screws to remove that part of the shut-off switch. I took the new switch out of the package and compared it to the old switch. I assembled the switch just like the old switch look using the new...
