Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Bought a used dryer went through it before putting in service to insure things were ok   Clifford R. • Bay St. Louis , MS • December 17, 2014

Found belt tension idler worn down to the bushing, found the drum rollers stiff and hard to turn, found belt worn and starting to crack. Ordered all of these plus front slide pads. Replaced and now feel confident the dryer will run without problems. Absolutely need a pair of snap-ring pliers for this job. I used a high temp grease on the roller shafts, some info on what lubrication is recommended would be good. While dryer is disassembled, clean/vacuum all the lint from the cabinet, motor,... Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Bearings were worn out makeing a lot of noise   Lawrence L. • Largo , FL • August 08, 2015

I had a lot of problems removing the spin hub, I had to use an air impact wrench to un screw it even then it was very hard, it did not go easy with the hammer & pipe wrench as shown in the video. It was also very hard to remove the bottom spin bearing I had to cut the bearing retainer with a dremel tool so I could get my puller on it. After I struggled to get it apart The repair went very easy, I used brake spring pliers to remove the springs it worked like a charm. I am very pleased with... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Our maytag washer kept on going into an "automatic" double rinse cycle   John & Trish L. • Los Angeles , CA • July 31, 2016

We "eliminated" the problem by purchasing a "new timer" and "by-passing" the switch on our washer that was "specifically" for an extra rinse IF you desired. I had a suspicion that this switch; although in the "OFF" position, no longer worked and was in the "open" position all of the time. I tried to buy a "new" switch, but it's not available ANYWHERE; not even from Maytag. I have a feeling that the "new" switch "eliminated" the need for this switch and incorporated it into the new tiomer. I may... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You The electric motor   Christopher D. • Lynn , MA • May 10, 2017

The repair was not to hard to fix. You first have to unplug the washer. Then you remove the spring. And the hoes have to be remove ,and then remove the belt, and then the water pump, and at last remove the spring. And their you have it. When removeing the water pump screws you must use a security bit set tool. Read more
