I read that replacing the latch may prevent my Maytag Dishwasher from stopping mid-cycle. I decided to also replace the latch-switch since I had it open. For my model, I only needed to remove the top 6 torx screws not the whole internal panel. Replaced the switch and latch in about 20 minutes (since I had never done this, I took it slow and easy). No longer includes course threaded sleeve. When replacing upgrade to new motor. For new motor, order from parts list by model number.
Searched the dishwasher model on ApplianceParts (had used them for a washing machine repair a few years earlier). Was looking for an exploded diagram of the internal parts so I could figure out what might be the problem. There was a video for a motor seal repair kit that seemed to address the bearings which is what I suspected was the culprit. Removed drain pump and drain hose. Found blockage in hose, cleared. Reinstalled hose. Installed new pump and check valve (inside washer). Read more
