I pulled up a YouTube video of the Maytag repair for the part. After I had a visual of what to do, I took the door off the stove, removed the trim pieces in order to get the front cover off, then removed the broken trim piece the door handle attaches to, put the new part on (and it looks amazing!). Very easy fix. Remove oven door by just opening it slightly and pulling up. (an easy way to clean it too). Then, with a phillips screw driver, remove two screws holding the damaged element in place. Slowly pull the element toward the front a couple inched to expose the wires. Disconnect the wires (no tools needed), remove the old element and replace it with the new. Unplugged the oven. Removed the ribbon from the control board. Plugged the oven back in and F1 code with beeping appeared within a minute. Checked resistance of oven temperature sensor which was 1050 ohms at room temperature meeting specifications. Ordered control board and door gasket from APP. Parts arrived quickly, were brand new, and packaged well. Installed parts and so far no F1 code after 4 times using the oven.
