This is a Whirlpool washing machine basket. The washing machine basket holds laundry during a wash cycle. The basket may become damaged over time due to normal wear and tear, which can be exacerbated by overloading laundry or using the wrong amount of detergent. When the basket starts to become damaged or malfunction, noticeable noise increases may take place during use. Eventually, the damage will lead to the basket failing to spin. The old basket can be removed by first removing the top portion by pushing the fastening clips that hold it in place. After removing the top, reach down to remove the softener cup. Using a socket, unfasten the agitator at the bottom of the basket. After removing the agitator, the basket should easily lift out of the machine. This part is a genuine OEM product and is sourced directly from the manufacturer. It is intended for use in Whirlpool, Maytag, Kenmore, and Crosley appliances.
