This pressure switch hose carries air from the washer tub to the pressure switch so the machine can sense and control water level. Replacing a damaged hose restores proper fill control and prevents level-sensing errors. What it does:
- Channels air/vacuum from the tub to the pressure switch so the control can detect water level.
- A cracked, pinched, or collapsed hose may cause overfilling, underfilling, failure to advance cycles, or continuous fill.
- Restores accurate water-level sensing when replacing a worn or damaged hose.
What's included: One pressure switch hose. Install notes:
- Disconnect power to the appliance before servicing to avoid shock or injury.
- Remove and replace the hose carefully; avoid kinks, sharp bends, or pinched routing that can impair sensing.
- Use the factory-style connection points and clamps; ensure both ends are seated securely.
- After installation, run a test fill or diagnostic cycle to confirm correct water-level operation and no leaks.
This part fixes the following symptoms
-
Will not stop filling with water

- Common signs of failure: wobbling parts, scraping/rubbing noises, or components that work loose
- Visual clues: deformation, corrosion, or loss of spring tension
What's included: 1 retaining ring Install notes:
- Disconnect power and any utilities to the appliance before service
- Wear eye protection—retaining rings can spring free under tension
- Note the order/orientation of any washers or spacers before removal
- Use appropriate snap-ring or needle-nose pliers and ensure the ring seats fully in its groove

Maytag washer was making a squeaking noise during the agitation cycle and when it stopped it squeaked louder Jeff S. • Bradenton , FL • January 02, 2019
I took the machine apart and installed a new brake rotor , Brake stator and a snubber ring, after the install the machine works great and no more squeaking. I will say one thing about AppliancePartsPros.com that when I first received the order the brake rotor was new in the sealed bag but the brake material wasn't attached to it, customer service was helpful and sent me a new part the next day. I will use this company again.

Maytag refrigerator one front plastic roller (wheel) broke Kenneth S. • Manhattan , IL • April 05, 2019
Watched the video on how to replace. Ordered new roller, which was delivered in just a couple of days. Since the roller had broke, I was unable to roll out the refrigerator, so I tilted the refrigerator back and placed a small furniture slider under the roller frame to prevent gouging the wood floor. Then it was easy to slide out the refrigerator and replaced the roller as explained on the video. I had ordered a pin and bolt, just in case I would need to replace, but didn't need them. ...

After moving the washing machine to our new house water dripped into tub with machine off Stephen B. • Germanton , NC • January 11, 2017
I replaced the fill valve assembly with a new one. Had to look carefully at the parts diagrams to make sure I ordered the right one since the serial number break old vs. new didn't seem to match the number on my machine.
On this particular machine you don't need to pull it out too far from the wall-leave the hoses connected to the valve, remove the screw holding the valve bracket, and pull into the washing machine where you can easily access the hose ends.
A putty knife is needed to open...

Severe vibration during washer spin cycle. Robert G. • Richmond , VA • January 15, 2018
I followed the Appliance Parts Pro's advice videos for the Maytag MAV6451AWW Atlantis washer on replacing the snubber ring and the suspension springs. Everything went just fine except replacing the two rear most suspension springs. None of the videos illustrated REINSTALLING the REAR springs which is extremely difficult because you can't get enough leverage with your arm extended. Observing my frustration, my wife recommended taking off the back side. You can't simply take off the back,...

This brake spring restores proper tension in the washer's transmission brake so the basket stops promptly and releases cleanly for spin. Replacing a fatigued or broken spring helps bring back smooth, reliable spin and stopping performance.
- Maintains brake tension to hold the basket stationary between cycles
- Releases the brake during spin so the basket can reach proper speed
- Helps stop the basket smoothly at cycle end
- Common signs include no/slow spin, basket coasting too long after spin, or brake squeal/grinding when stopping
What's included: 1 brake spring Install notes:
- Disconnect power and water before servicing; wear gloves and eye protection.
- The brake spring is under tension—secure the assembly and carefully relieve spring force before removal.
- Access typically requires removing drive components to reach the brake assembly; support the washer safely if tilted.
- After installation, hand-rotate the drive pulley to ensure smooth brake engagement and release before running a test cycle.

A scretching when the brake would be applied and the drum would come to a stop Mike W. • Batavia , IL • March 20, 2015
I replaced the: brake stator, rotor, and snubber ring. I did need to remove the stator which allowed the spring to decompress. I used 2 C-clamps to control the force when it was removed. To re-secure all the components I stood on the stator to compress the 200lbs spring until the screws could take the load safely. The entire thing took about an hour to slowly go through everything.
