Made for use on electric ranges, this part is an oven relay control board. The purpose of this part is to receive signals from the main oven control board. This component then operates relays to regulate the oven elements. Unplug the appliance from the electrical outlet and allow it plenty of time to cool off before attempting to perform repairs. The replacement process is fairly easy and takes about 20 minutes to complete.If the oven won't maintain the temperature, it is possible that the oven relay control board is faulty. In many cases, the oven will heat up initially but won't kick in to heat the oven throughout the baking process. The oven relay control board can be tested using a VOM to check for continuity. This oven relay control board is sold individually. It is sourced straight from the manufacturer. This particular part is compatible with ovens that are manufactured by General Electric.
I did the ol' 'WebMD diagnosis' via Google and found others were having the same issue...Oven would heat but then wouldn't maintain temp...must be some kinda of 'defective' Frame Board ASB from GE...but whatevers....Ordered the board via AppliancePartsPro.com and got the part pronto...Took me and my son 20 minutes to swap the board and we were back up and baking cakes!!! My son-in-law helped me. He pulled the liner open enough that he could see he just had to tighten up the existing screw on the door handle..
