This DC auger motor drives the ice-dispensing auger in the freezer door, restoring proper ice delivery from the dispenser. It replaces a worn or failed motor to get the auger turning again for reliable dispensing. What it does:

The refrigerator / freezer were working ok (still cold, interior lights functioning); but the control panel on the exterior door was dead. Followed the maintenance tip, and checked that there was 12VDC to the panel, so confirmed the panel was the failed part. The panel is a friction fit part, with two tabs at the bottom. Easy to replace with the shield and paddle assembly. Steps are: 1. use a flat head screwdriver to push the tabs at the base of the control panel. remove the wire connectors by gently prying them straight off. 2. remove the 4 phillips screws holding in the old assembly. 3. Install the new assembly by carefully putting the paddle behind the water pipe that sticks out. You may have to push the paddle one way to get it around the pipe and then back into place. 4. reinstall the screws. 5. reconnect... Read more
