Easy to replace with the shield and paddle assembly. Steps are: 1. use a flat head screwdriver to push the tabs at the base of the control panel. remove the wire connectors by gently prying them straight off. 2. remove the 4 phillips screws holding in the old assembly. 3. Install the new assembly by carefully putting the paddle behind the water pipe that sticks out. Since the compressor was still working, I guessed that either the interior fan was bad or the main control board. Since fans are usually very reliable, I decided to replaced the main control board. Immediately after replacing the board, the refrigerator began working normally. Thank goodness that solved the problem because replacing the board is much easier that replacing the fan on my refrigerator. Read more
