This square beauty ring was snapped in place with about 12 small retaining studs that were part of the beauty ring. By using my fingernails I could pull out the ring a bit all the way around. I ordered a new interface display assembly to replace the cracked/broken face plate. You have to replace the whole interface display as the face plate is built integral with the interface. There is no option to just replace the plastic. The repair was extremely easy and involved prying off the old display with a flat head screwdriver, unplugging the old display, plugging in the new display and snapping it back into position. Ordered the new interface display - this must be the easiest refrigerator repair possible. My version popped right off without even a screw (some models have a screw). There are 3 different sizes of connector to disconnect and hook up to the new board - so you really can't mess that up. Read more
