Ge cafe freezer fine fridge not Rusty D. • Gallatin , TN • November 15, 2018
The short... Our GE refrigerator has a dual evaporator. Which means there is an evaporator in both the freezer and the refrigerator. So inadequate cooling in the refrigerator is most likely not related to the freezer at all like it is with models that do not have dual evaporators. After extensive research, diagnosing and testing I was able to determine that the refrigerator evaporator thermistor was not working properly. I replaced all four thermistors (two in the refrigerator and two in the...

The interior fan of the refrigerator stopped working temperatures in both freezer and refrigerator sections were too hot Michael H. • Hillsborough , NJ • January 28, 2017
Since the compressor was still working, I guessed that either the interior fan was bad or the main control board. Since fans are usually very reliable, I decided to replaced the main control board. Immediately after replacing the board, the refrigerator began working normally. Thank goodness that solved the problem because replacing the board is much easier that replacing the fan on my refrigerator.

Noisy evaporator fan Jason L. • Barnegat , NJ • August 02, 2025

Fresh food door would not fully close Carl P. • Northfield , NJ • December 21, 2015
Replaced upper and lower thimble's, lever arm, cam closure. Door stop was not the problem, but ordered it and replaced it too. The door of course has to come off, remove the top hinge, and lift it away. Lubricated moving parts with silicone spray. Be sure and put the door back in the open position, so the lever arm and cam closure can properly interact, then close the door. Remove the plastic grate at the bottom to get at the lever arm. Presto. Problem gone. Don't put excessive weight...
