Ordered a new Vent Grille from ApplicanPartPros.com and installed it myself. Install went very easily by securing 2 small screws. My only complaint was that there were no instructions in the box. The good news, Customer service told me where to find the screws to remove the old grille and to secure the new one. Read more
Follow the trio ubshooting flow chart inside of the microwave panel - and read articles on this website. Turned out to be a thermostat that had popped and gone bad. Replace the thermostat and it is good to go. Read more
Per Factory This Handle Now Is Only Available In Matte Stainless Not Glossy.
Go to https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KGb-U0t-qCM Even though it says :Whirlpool/KitchenAid/Maytag Door Handle W10259243" it works for the GE PVM1790SR1SS The difference is the removal of the top vent panel, which unscrews from the top on the GE. Also, the door removal is easier on the GE: just lift and slide out. The process of disassembling the door and installing the handle are exactly the same as shown in the video. You will need a putty knife to snap out the inside trim. You need six... Read more
This control panel assembly replaces the front user interface of your microwave. It restores a clean look and reliable button inputs when the original panel is cracked, loose, or worn from regular use. What it does:

I have one of those combo units with the microwave on top and the oven on the bottom. The thermometer switch located on the upper right side mounted on top of the magnetron read open on a continuity test. Replaced the thermal fuse. Everything works fine now. Note: The thermal switch on the left side read closed, the fan switch on the lower right side read open. I just watched some youtube videos on what and how to test the components. The 20A fuse was good. So I tested the thermal... Read more
I had to remove the microwave from the range and then remove the cover from the microwave to determine the exact problem. After a visual inspection then discharging the high voltage capacitor, I used a meter to test the high voltage diode and fuses. After using the meter to ohm out the magnetron, I removed it from the unit, and seeing that the hole in the end of the magnetron's tube was enlarged and burnt, as if it was arcing, I assumed it was the bad part. I ordered the parts from Appliance... Read more
I ordered a new ring. The part came quickly and fit perfectly. Where before the glass tray would rumble because that wheel would constantly fall off, the unit is back to operating as new. Read more
Dropped unit about six inches by support bolts (cabinet access) and replaced socket light assembly, replaced stovetop bulbs, replaced motorized vent grill. Replaced interior light bulb. I think it defies common sense but you have to drop the unit from its moorings to replace the interior bulb. Owner's manual says it is a two-man job, which compounds this engineering debacle. Actually you can lower it rather than completely deinstall. I had also not been able to replace the stovetop bulbs,... Read more
