Sealed burner gas cooktop has to be removed from the counter top in order to disassemble. This means disconnecting the gas line. To disassemble the unit you will have to remove the gas line regulator. Once the unit is separated you will see the spark module. I replaced the module. Note: Because the new module has been updated from the original it does look different. I suggest you put the new module along side the old taking one wire at a time from the old to the new. My son searched the internet for replacement hinges. Found them at Appliance Parts Pros.com. The stove is approximately 18 years old, so imagine my surprise! The parts were delivered 2 days after our order was placed...and arrived on Christmas Eve, in time for dinner. To install, he did have to purchase a single die/tappit thingie to make the screws work. The spark module for my 1990 Caloric Model RSS398 Natural Gas double oven range stopped functioning. I tried to get the part at a local appliance parts store and was unsuccessful as they said the part was discontinued. I called the Appliance Parts Pros help line and spoke to an excellent service tech who took the time and made the effort to reference, cross reference, and find a part that was different in configuration, but functionally the same. The unit is a Jenn-Air oven/microwave combo. The oven still had power, so I knew it wasn't the circuit breaker in the house. Found the Owner's manual to see if it had info on a fuse & location. Found No info in the manual. Checked the internet for common problems for this model. Found that they do blow fuses, capacitors & sometimes the magnatrons.
