The video was generic but very good. I started trying to tuck the gasket like the video was showing, but soon gave up and pulled the screws around the door, the gasket snapped on and put screws back in. I know some viewers said they simply loosened the screws but I found it just as simple to remove them and the gasket snapped into place and had no issues with screw hole alignment. Read more
Replaced the thermostat. It was a trick wiggling the capillary line out of it's well, but once out, replacing it was simple. Lots of screws, so remember where they all go. Take pics, as you disassemble it, totally from the fridge section. Also be careful to have the correct side of the thermostat box up, or the knob will point in the wrong direction. Ask me how I know this. :) Also, on my particular model, there was no place to connect the ground wire, so it grounded through the chassis. Read more
This part may come in either black, gray, or white, depending on what is available.
I watched the online instructional video first. When I started the replacement, it was clear that the replacement gasket in the video was not the same, i.e. more complicated. Instead of just slipping the edge of the gasket under the edge of the door panel, it required removing all screws in door panel, positioning the gasket edge in the panel grove and replacing the screws.
