Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You No hot water after 10 seconds.   Ralph G. • Oxford , OH • January 25, 2018

Ordered water inlet solinoid valve and water temperature probe sensor. Items arrived in a few days. Appliance Parts Pros on-line video was extremely helpful for replacing inlet valve. It only took 20 minutes. Recommend replacing temp. sensor probe while old valve is out before mounting new valve. Only 2 screws-Easy. Entire job took about an hour start to finish. Saved at least $150 doing it myself over repairman and saved $750 over replacing the washer. Happy wife, happy life! Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Start button cut out repeatedly washing machine stopped in mid cycle   Christopher W. • Herndon , VA • June 13, 2014

Replaced control board assembly and housing as a unit, since problem likely at the switch or the relay and neither part available to me. Removed original board assembly from housing to inspect, found no visible damage or corrosion Found the correct board configuration by searching the model number online and looking at several websites. The appliancepartspros.com site had the photos to confirm the board configuration, gave the GE part number, sold the board installed in the housing, offered an... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Washer timer know would not turn washer on while dial would   Gail R. • Arvada , CO • August 24, 2015

Ordered new timer, dial and control knob assembly. After unplugging machine I removed the knobs from the control consul. Removed three screws holding consul face plate from rear of machine. Moved faceplate forward to gain access to electronic components. Timer is located on right with one hold down screw which I removed. Lifting timer from mount location I removed wiring harness. Installed harness on new times and inserted into hole for knob. It would be helpful if front was market on timer.... Read more

This transmission and brake assembly includes the tub seal and is used on many General Electric top load washers.

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Leaking water and oil strange noises not agitating with full load   Charles N. • Plainview , NY • March 06, 2016

Replaced transmission and brake assembly. The video on appliancepartspros.com was very helpful. A few comments: 1) On my model, there was no wiring harness to unhook to detach the lid switch, as was shown on the video. Instead, I had to remove the switch itself. Underneath, one of the short edges of the switch has a clip that you depress, and then you can poke the switch up. Once it's loose, then you can turn it a bit and work it down through the hole so it's free of the lid. 2) The tub nut may... Read more
