Researched this kenmore washer on-line and found the problem to be the lid switch. Saw a diagram on how to jump this switch by connecting a wire to both outside wires on the harness and voila! It worked! This is not a fix but it allowed me to finish the load of unwashed clothes and told me which part was bad (do not run washer jumped like this.......fire hazard!) I watched a few videos on you tube and thought I had a general idea on how to replace. The unit we have the top panel was attached from the side panels below the top panel,so I had to remove the three sides and top. I kept all the screws and attachments in order, vacuumed and cleaned the best I could.Once the top panel was replace I was able to reinstall the sides.That was a little time but got it done. Read more
