General overhaul of a 14 year old machine Todd F. • Wellsburg , WV • January 20, 2016
Model# MAV7257AWW Maytag Atlantis Washing Machine. Repairs were fairly easy along with the videos appliancepartspros offers on their website. Parts also came with instructions on how to install. Other videos were available on You Tube. The only part difficult to install was Thrust bearing kit - make sure when installing to pull down on shaft so washer and e-clip will fit. Another note, you can get a pulley for your replacement motor pulley on eBay and Maytag.com. Just pay close attention to...

This brake spring restores proper tension in the washer's transmission brake so the basket stops promptly and releases cleanly for spin. Replacing a fatigued or broken spring helps bring back smooth, reliable spin and stopping performance.
- Maintains brake tension to hold the basket stationary between cycles
- Releases the brake during spin so the basket can reach proper speed
- Helps stop the basket smoothly at cycle end
- Common signs include no/slow spin, basket coasting too long after spin, or brake squeal/grinding when stopping
What's included: 1 brake spring Install notes:
- Disconnect power and water before servicing; wear gloves and eye protection.
- The brake spring is under tension—secure the assembly and carefully relieve spring force before removal.
- Access typically requires removing drive components to reach the brake assembly; support the washer safely if tilted.
- After installation, hand-rotate the drive pulley to ensure smooth brake engagement and release before running a test cycle.

A scretching when the brake would be applied and the drum would come to a stop Mike W. • Batavia , IL • March 20, 2015
I replaced the: brake stator, rotor, and snubber ring. I did need to remove the stator which allowed the spring to decompress. I used 2 C-clamps to control the force when it was removed. To re-secure all the components I stood on the stator to compress the 200lbs spring until the screws could take the load safely. The entire thing took about an hour to slowly go through everything.

This small strainer sits inside the washer's water inlet valve and screens out sand, rust, and sediment from the supply lines. Replacing a clogged or missing screen restores normal fill flow and helps protect the valve.
- Filters debris from incoming hot and cold water before it reaches the valve and tub
- Helps maintain consistent water flow during the fill cycle
- A clogged or damaged screen can cause slow fill, very long fill times, or no fill
- Common causes for replacement include mineral buildup or rust/sediment from supply lines
What's included: One inlet strainer/screen insert. Install notes:
- Unplug the washer and turn off both water supplies
- Place a towel or shallow pan, relieve hose pressure, and disconnect the fill hoses from the inlet valve
- Carefully pull out the old screen (needle-nose pliers work well); press the new screen fully and evenly into the valve port
- Reconnect hoses, restore water and power, and check for leaks
- Tip: Many washers have separate hot and cold inlets—inspect both screens and replace as needed

Too much water filled into machine error code fe Terry H. • Columbia , SC • March 02, 2015
The machine would not run a full cycle before it cut off and had the code "FE" and water was too high. The water inlet valve needed to be replaced since it was letting in too much water at time. The repair was easy. Unplug machine and turn off cold water. Remove cold water line and drain water into bucket. Remove back two braces located at the top on each end of machine This will allow you to move top cove back about one inch. Pull back top cover about 1 inch then lift off cover. Remove...

Washer was leaking between outer tub and mounting base plate Jeffrey T. • Stallings , NC • May 07, 2016
Replaced all seals, unfortunately it is still leaking. I can see where it is leaking from. I am going to tear it back down use some ultra grey gasket maker and reinstall tub gasket. Hoping that works. If it still leaks I will be using the washer as a large paper weight.

Bearings were worn out makeing a lot of noise Lawrence L. • Largo , FL • August 08, 2015
I had a lot of problems removing the spin hub, I had to use an air impact wrench to un screw it even then it was very hard, it did not go easy with the hammer & pipe wrench as shown in the video. It was also very hard to remove the bottom spin bearing I had to cut the bearing retainer with a dremel tool so I could get my puller on it. After I struggled to get it apart The repair went very easy, I used brake spring pliers to remove the springs it worked like a charm. I am very pleased with...
