First remove the back from the washing machine. Top of the machine came off simple. To replace springs, I took a crow bar but it on the right side underneath where one of the springs should be. Lift the tumbler up remove and replace the spring. Did the same thing to the other side. On the tumbling unit there are spaces for three shock absorbers. Mine only had one shock in the middle. I was moving my washer and dryer on to a platform when the washer slipped and the drawer came out and broke. I was going to surprise my wife with this new setup. I watched the youtube video from appliancepartspros that explained every step of how to install shipping bolts on a Whirlpool Duet front-load washer. The step that I would have missed without the video was removing the top cover from the washer in order to push the drum down enough for the shipping bolts to connect. I used a screw driver and a socket set to install the shipping bolts. Read more

Took it apart and saw that the the bearings were worn down completely.. The front outer tub was cracked and leaking. We ordered both pieces to the outer tub and a new pulley. My washer is running like new now.. A little advice.. Do not over load your washer.. Maytag is a great brand but overloading them because there great washers, will wear down the parts inside.. Prior to ordering parts I had pulled the pump strainer basket and cleaned it out. There was both soft and hard scale build up. The tub-to-pump hose was also pretty crusty/slimey. Still got warnings for SUDS and repeated F02 errors. Ordered parts and replaced the pump, tub-to-pump hose, interior drain hose and exterior drain hose (both hoses has some slime build up). Contacted "Just Answer" for diagnosis. They determined that it was the control module. After changing module I could not get machine to turn on. Double & triple checked & then went to troubleshooting instructions in machine. Turned out that one of the wires in the harness from the control pad had chafed through & finally broke.
