This water inlet valve is an authentic OEM replacement part sourced directly from the manufacturer. Washing machines use the water inlet valve as a gateway that allows hot and cold water to reach the washing machine tub during the wash and rinse cycles. This gateway is controlled by the solenoid attached to it. The solenoid receives signals from the control unit that determine the temperature and water level. If the water inlet valve is faulty or has broken down due to normal wear and tear, the washing machine may leak due to overfilling or not clean the laundry due to not receiving enough water. The water inlet valve should be replaced to ensure the water level and temperature are correct and that the machine does not leak. Before starting, make sure to unplug the appliance from the wall or and turn the water off at the source. Pull the washing machine away from the wall and remove the back panel. Disconnect the water hoses from the inlet valve and disconnect the solenoid wiring. Install the new water inlet valve and reverse the procedure to restore the washing machine to working order. This water inlet valve is a plastic molded part that is sold individually. It is designed for use in washing machines manufactured by General Electric.

There is another panel located under the hose connections held by one screw. A metal panel is attached by two screws to the valve assembly. I... Read more
