The Evaporator Fan Motor Kit is an OEM part compatible with GE refrigerators. It is a critical component responsible for circulating air and maintaining proper airflow within the refrigerator's evaporator system, ensuring efficient cooling and temperature regulation. It features a shaft that measures 3/8 of an inch and two right-side terminals. Notably, the motor no longer comes with harness wires, which must be obtained separately for installation.
Symptoms of a faulty evaporator fan motor include:
- Inconsistent or inadequate cooling in the refrigerator or freezer compartments
- Warm spots or temperature fluctuations within the refrigerator
- Excessive frost buildup or ice accumulation in the freezer
Causes of a bad evaporator fan motor can include wear and tear over time, electrical issues or short circuits, or physical damage from foreign objects or improper maintenance.
This GE replacement part is also compatible with Hotpoint, RCA, and some Kenmore refrigerator models.

The refrigerator would not cool nor freeze! Tom C. • Kenmore , WA • October 31, 2015
I called AppliancePartsPros.com and they helped me diagnose the problem for this very nice, and well designed refrigerator, that I wanted to keep rather than recycle at the local scrap yard. It turns out that all it needed was a small electric fan (i.e., evaporator fan) to circulate the air from the freezer coils throughout the refrigerator [all other major components were good]. It was really easy to locate the motor and fan and replace it. I saved hundreds of $$$. I really appreciated the...

- Unusual noises during the ice-making cycle, which could indicate that the drive cup is not engaging correctly with other components.
- Decreased efficiency in ice production, as the mechanism struggles to operate smoothly.
This OEM GE part is also compatible with Hotpoint, RCA, and some Kenmore models.

Ice build up in the freezer compartment Kathleen T. • Danville , CA • August 05, 2015
Replaced the de-frost timer because I noticed that one of the terminals was discolored indicating a high resistance connection. In addition I inspected the de-frost heater elements for continuity and shorts and they checked out OK. Then we come to the thermostat.....in the model ZIS48D with the mechanical de-frost timer there are two thermostats which are both the same part number (the digital defrost model only has 1 thermostat) The de-frost thermostat has a pink & an orange wire and the...
