The indications made me think the dishwasher was not shooting water. I checked the water valve with a voltmeter and it was getting power to open. I disconnected the line to make sure the water line was not plugged. Then I bypassed the door switch and ran the dishwasher with the door open and did not see the water filling which pointed to the inlet valve. I ordered the valve which came quickly. 1) Cleaned all sprayer arms. Many of the outlet holes were clogged with small debris (mostly small bits of food and a Jolly Rancher candy wrapper). 2) Removed circulation pump to clean impeller assembly. It was really clogged with stuff (more candy wrapper, shards of glass, a small metal screw). Luckily impeller fins were intact. 3) Re-assembled. Replaced the drain valve. duh. here's the kicker...original problem was circulation pump was broken. Paid $350 to have it "professionally" fixed, and when we turned it on, it wouldn't run, so "professional tech" said "it must be the control panel". So I say maybe, send him away, checked the indicator panel and sure enuf, drain valve light. Changed inlet valve super easy on my whirlpool dishwasher took the front kick panel off turned off water and electricity the valve was right out front bottom left one small sheet metal screw held it on disconnected plug and 5/8 water line and hose with clamp for fill to tub just reverse for install of new valve Read more

Thanks to appliancepartspros.com the dishwasher was able to be repaired quickly and under budget. I removed the motor pump assembly and replaced it. I was also able to change out the faulty flood switch and replace the seals to stop the leak. The appliance is once again good as new and ready to run a new load of dishes. Read more
