Microwave won't stop running or starts when door closes? A faulty door switch is likely the cause. This safety switch is a 45-minute DIY fix.
The first symptom was our microwave would continue to run after the time was up. The light would go out, the turn table would stop but you could still hear the microwave running and whatever was in it would continue to cook. The only way to stop it was to open the door. It was intermittent at first but eventually it would always run no matter what as long as the door was closed. Several other posts referenced these switches as the problem. I just replaced both and problem gone. It turns out... Read more
Microwave won't turn on or is completely dead? A blown fuse is often the cause. This safety fuse protects against power surges. Easy 5-minute DIY fix.
I read on line about other such ovens doing the same thing mine was doing, absolutely nothing! I even read stories of a major retailer telling customers to throw the microwave away. There's nothing you can do to fix it. After replacing a simple fuse that I ordered from you, the Advantium is as good as new. It took a grand total of 5 minutes to make the repair. The shipping cost more than the part, but it was all very worthwhile. Read more
Microwave not heating but lights and timer work? The high voltage diode converts AC to DC for the magnetron. DIY repair in 1-2 hours with basic tools.

Due to being an odd sized built in $$ unit I had to have repaired. I was getting quotes in the $4-500 range for just the magnetron. I was pretty confident the magnetron was the issue and also ordered a new capacitor and diode since I was going to be in there and a lot of money ahead repairing myself. About... Read more
Microwave not heating but runs? Replace the magnetron to restore cooking power. Intermediate DIY repair taking 1-2 hours with proper safety steps.
I ordered the capacitor, diode, and magnetron in hopes that I would be able to complete the repair using the less expensive parts. I first removed the oven from the wall and then I removed the metal housing to access the internal parts. I discharged the capacitor using a pair of insulated needle nose pliers. Then I changed out the diode and the capacitor and reassembled the unit and tested it. It still did not heat so I disassembled the unit again and replaced the magnetron this time.... Read more
Microwave won't heat or shuts off during use? This magnetron thermostat senses temperature and controls heating. Moderate DIY fix with basic tools.
