Fredrick C Allen , TX August 05, 2014 Fridge wasn't cooling but could hear compressor turn on Opened back panel and noticed the fan was stopped. Unplugged the fridge and the fan was very hot to the touch and did not spin freely. I was able to remove the fan and get to run for a day by freeing up the motor. It quit after a day - and bought this one online. Was easy to replace and now the fridge is much cooler. I replaced it and followed the instructional video. It was super easy and took less than 30 minutes. While I was there I also cleaned out the undercarriage - so much built up dust and dander that the air was not flowing through the coils. It works like a charm and the cabinet is now cool. I'm sure the refrigerator is working more efficiently, now, too. Richard G La Quita , CA September 21, 2017 Overheating of the mullion between the side by side freezer/refrigerator Whirlpool Gold of 2002 appliance would cool but would trip the wall socket breaker Replaced the fan motor that cools/aerates the compressor. Appliance is functioning as before and hopefully will provide more years of good service.
