Dryer won't start when you turn the knob? A faulty start switch prevents the motor from engaging. Simple 5-10 minute DIY fix with basic tools required.
Got the model number off the dryer. Looked it up online. I wanted name brand replacement part. Found this wonderful AppliancePartsPros.com. Looked up my model number, went to top control panel section, ordered the Start Switch. In ONE DAY I received it. Removed the back part of my dryer. Easily removed the broken part. (I did watch a video online). Put on the new Start Switch. Instead of ordering a new knob. I removed a knob from the dryer that I don't use. It turns a buzzer on or off to let... Read more
Fix interior lights that won't turn on, stay on constantly, or delay when opening the door. This switch replacement takes 10-15 minutes with basic tools.
Our refrigerator takes care of my wife and I, along with our children when they visit, and the grand kids. Over the years, it's seen its fair share of wear and tear. Thankfully, nothing major has happened that hasn't been able to be repaired right here in the home, and by me. Our refrigerator is a GE side-by-side with an ice maker/water dispenser, and has held up well. I've ordered parts for it from AppliancePartsPros.com for all of its repairs, and while GE/Frigidaire have been changing out a... Read more
Burner stuck on high heat or won't adjust temperature? This dual surface element switch restores precise heat control. DIY repair in about 30 minutes.
I ordered the 2 energy switches from Appliance Parts Pros with the model number. After receiving parts I started. 1st disconnected the range cord. Remove the control panel at the front. Then one switch at a time removed connection & reconnect to the new switch one by one. Then removed knob & old switch. Secured the new switch & knob to panel. Did the same to the other switch. Secured panel & reconnect. Tested radiant cook tops at different settings & both front heated up. Took approx. 30... Read more
Dryer won't start or keeps running with door open? The door switch detects door position for safe operation. DIY-friendly repair with video guide.
I am so blessed. I went online. Found the brackets. Watch the video for the brackets I chose. And lucky me. I did not have to pull the dishwasher out. The installer did not have it flush under the counter. So I was able to pull the dishwasher forward unhook the damage brackets and insert the new. Put the dishwasher back in. Two screws. Now the balanced and secure dishwasher washes better than ever and I did not have to pay an extraordinary fee for a repairman. I'm 68 and take care of a 72 year... Read more
Fix DL error code or washer that won't start with this lid switch and lock assembly. DIY repair in about 20 minutes with basic tools and video guide.
Replaced it with the part I ordered from you guys. I had originally had LG come and check it out but they quoted me a price 250 plus tax. I said no way this little piece can cost 1/4 of the whole washing machine. So after finding your price, I you-tubed on how to replace it and I did in 20 min. Thanks youtube and thanks to you guys for such a great price on this switch assembly Read more

Fix burners that won't turn off, stay on high, or turn on by themselves. This surface element switch restores safe temperature control. 15-minute DIY fix.
We sent an email to AppliancePartsPros.com asking for their help in fixing our range. We gave them the model number (NE58F9500SS) of our Samsung Electric Range and told them about the faulty/dangerous two dual burners. We hated to get close to the range because the burners would turn on if you barely brushed by the range or if you would reach across it and accidentally touch the burner knobs all of a sudden you would feel heat or just see the light indicating the burner was on. We were... Read more
Fix FH error codes or washer overfilling with a new water level pressure switch. Simple DIY repair with video guide—takes about 5-10 minutes.
Prior to ordering parts I had pulled the pump strainer basket and cleaned it out. There was both soft and hard scale build up. The tub-to-pump hose was also pretty crusty/slimey. Still got warnings for SUDS and repeated F02 errors. Ordered parts and replaced the pump, tub-to-pump hose, interior drain hose and exterior drain hose (both hoses has some slime build up). The water standing in the tub when I emptied it the first time had very little suds but we kept getting the SUDS warning. ... Read more
Microwave tripping breaker or won't start? A faulty door switch is often the cause. This safety switch detects door position. Moderate DIY repair.

The Door Light Switch is an OEM part for GE refrigerators. It is located near the top of the refrigerator compartment, and it is activated by the door's movement. When the door is opened, the switch is triggered, turning on the interior light to provide visibility. When the door is closed, the switch is released, turning off the light to conserve energy.
Causes of a faulty or damaged door light switch can include regular wear and tear, electrical malfunctions, or physical damage. These factors can result in issues such as the interior light not turning on or off properly, or the light staying illuminated even when the door is closed.
Symptoms of a bad door light switch may include:
This OEM GE part can also be used on Hotpoint, RCA, and Kenmore/Sears appliances.

Replace a broken or non-functioning range hood light switch. DIY installation takes about 20 minutes with basic tools and proper wire handling.
1) Unscrewed the metal pieces behind the switch panel. You'll notice 3 screws. Afterwards, I realized that I just needed to remove the screws to the left and right of the switch box. The box then slides out. If you take out the third that connects the box to the wire cover, just remember to screw that back in before you replace the box. 2) To make sure I didn't place the wiring in the wrong place, I basically took the wiring out one by one and placing it into the new switch. 3) Place the new... Fix a dispenser that won't stop running water or ice, or won't dispense at all. This switch controls water and ice flow. Moderate DIY repair.
I had the original sensors in my Frigidaire, which were now about 18 years old. The water dispenser would work, but I would have to push in the lever and then draw it back until it found that "sweet spot." I finally got annoyed enough with the problem that I looked online. I almost purchased the dispenser actuator (the paddle), and glad I didn't because it was not the problem. Unless your lights are out, or it broke, the culprit will be these little dispenser switches which get pressed... Read more

Fixes burner stuck on, no low heat, or burner not heating. Controls temperature levels on electric range surface burners. Moderate DIY repair.
Switches needed to be replaced. Make note of where each screw comes from. They were not all the same. To remove the front panel and get to the switches, you have to partially remove the cook top. Removed 5 screws from the back to release the cooktop. Slid the cooktop back far enough to expose screws holding on the front panel. Removed 4 screws from the top and 6-8 from the bottom (opened the oven door to get to the bottom screws). Removed screws from the front panel holding the switch in... Read more
