The Diverter Valve is an OEM part for Bosch dishwashers. This valve directs water flow during different phases of the wash cycle, determining whether water goes to the lower or upper spray arm.

Causes of a bad diverter valve can be mineral buildup causing malfunction, wear and tear of internal components over time, or damage from foreign debris.

Symptoms of a bad diverter valve include:

  • Insufficient or improper water distribution
  • Dirty dishes, especially on the lower rack
  • Extended wash cycle times
  • Dripping or leakage from the valve area

This Bosch part is also compatible with Thermador, Gaggenau some Kenmore models.

Hugh for Model Number SHX68T55UC

Bosch dishwasher SHX68T55UC, 4 years old. Getting E15 from time to time and sure enough there's water collecting in the base. I ran a rinse cycle and observed dripping from the diverter assembly. My question is: how can I tell if the problem is the diverter itself or if it's really another part and the drips just flow past the diverter? I figure I'm going to be disassembling the whole base section anyway, I might as well know what I should check beside the one thing I saw dripping.

Answer

Hugh, It will be hard to tell but another option is to order the sump that comes with a diverter already installed 00668102. Just another option for you. I would uninstall the unit and clear any insulation away from both sides so you can see from both sides. Keep the water and power hooked up and run a quick cycle to make sure like you said its not leaking from the wash pump or other area.
