Lee for Model Number WFR2460 UC/04 (FD 8306) A year ago the machine quit, and the Bosch serviceman took the back off, said it needed a new motor but none were available, and recommended that we replace the washer. I recently discovered that replacement motors were now available and removed the motor, planning on replacing it. But I cannot find anything wrong with it. Brushes are OK, bearings turn smoothly, winding resistance measurements look correct. Is there a way I can bench test it. I'm afraid I may end up replacing the wrong part.
Answer Lee, unfortunately, there would not be a way to bench test the motor 00142197 as it is a 3-phase motor. However, the resistances should have measured 0.5-1.9 Ohms from pin 1 to pin 3, 0.7-2.1 Ohms from pin 2 to pin 3, 1.5-10 Ohms from pin 4 to pin 5, and 14-35 Ohms from pin 6 to pin 7. If the resistances measure good, the next step would be inspecting the wires for any pinched or broken sections. If the wires are good, the main control 00494093 would be the likely cause of failure.
