Marc for Model Number Fghb2866pf6 My Frigidaire gallery fridge keeps giving a 5y EF code. I have replaced the fan motor in the middle of Jan. and it started giving the same code again so I replaced the main control panel and thermostat in the middle of Feb. Worked fine for two weeks. I replaced the fan motor again yesterday but keep getting the same error code and thoughts? I was think the main board could be bad but everything else is working and I hear the compressor kick on then the error code appears. Thanks for the help.
Answer Marc, you will want to test the voltage going to the fan motor by testing connection J4B pin 5 with the red probe of a meter to connection J4A pin 13 for 12 vdc. If 12vdc is there, then you will want to go to the fan and test the red wire with the red probe to the brown wire with the black probe and test for 12vdc. If the fan is not rotating and is receiving 12vdc, then the fan has failed. However, you may want to check the resistance of the windings of your compressor. You can check each pin to the others and the resistance should all be the same, if not then you may have a bad compressor that could be drawing too many amps causing other issues with components using dc voltage.
