Aleksandr for Model Number EW28BS85KS4 Hello, I was testing power from the socket which leads to evaporator fan by multimeter. The main problem - my fridge showing SY EF or 5Y EF (still not sure if it is '5' or 'S'). I was testing alternating current (AC), one pin was attached the brown wire and second pin I was trying to attach to the yellow wire. Unfortunately I dropped the second pin and it seems like it accidentally toughed the coil (which is located right under the evaporator fan). I was hearing clear snap and fridge turned off completely, even no lights on. I checked the power outlet - it's ok. I plugged my fridge in a different outlet - same thing. My fridge is not up and running like it's not plugged in a power outlet. Could you please tell me what to do, what to check? Thank you
Answer Alek S, The error code SY EF is for the evaporator circuit. check for continuity in the harness to the evaporator motor. check for 12v at J4B-5 & J4A-5 at the control. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Monday, January 13, 2020
