Carl for Model Number GSS20IEMBWW Hello, My evaporator fan stooped working. I assumed it was a fan motor because when I unplugged it I was getting 13 volts coming out of the plug. So i decided to order a new one. when I plugged it in to see if it runs properly, nothing happened. The only thing left could be a faulty motherboard? Thanks.
Answer Hello Carl, the 4 wire fan motors run on a supply voltage of about 12-14vdc, however, the motors internally have a speed control circuit that requires a signal input from the mainboard telling it how fast to run and that speed is also monitored by the mainboard. If the compressor and condenser fan is running so should the evap fan motor, the main control board is part WR55X10942C. Some ref models will turn off the evap fan motor with a door opening, the door switches can be checked with multimeter. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Monday, March 16, 2020
